Join us on Thursday, September 14 at 6 p.m. for a reading of "The Low Road: Walking the Walk for Veterans" with author Thomas Zurhellen.

In the summer of 2019, Navy veteran Tommy Zurhellen walked alone across America to raise awareness on veteran suicide and homelessness in our country. The Low Road chronicles his journey of 2,866 miles from Portland, Oregon back home to Poughkeepsie, New York, and shares the incredible stories of the forgotten veterans he meets along the way. All proceeds from The Low Road have been donated to help local veterans via the VetZero project at Hudson River Housing.

Tommy Zurhellen is Associate Professor of English at Marist College, where he serves as Chair of the Marist Veterans Affairs Committee. He is the author of the award-winning Messiah Trilogy of novels, which imagines the life of Jesus set in present-day North Dakota. His short stories and essays have appeared widely.
